Table Chauffante aspirante
Table Chauffante aspirante

The aspirating heating table is one of the studio’s most important investments. The table is equipped with heating devices and covered with a micro-perforated metal plaque. Linked to a vacuum pump, it allows uniform aspiration across its surface. Temperature and pressure are regulated by a central unit.

This table is useful for keeping threads in place during tear consolidation. It also has a role in local front-facing consolidated, particularly for works whose composition is very structured and thick. It is not possible to use a heated spatula on these paint structures, as the restorer risks crushing these thicknesses.

I recently used this table in a project involving a contemporary work covered with a layer of wax that could be consolidated only by aspiration and heating the back of the work.
